Study Client Profile – The Plata Family


Welcome to our client profiles page. To our current clients that have already used our marketing services and for the hundreds if not thousands of homeowners contemplating a private sale, we offer you this new feature, the first in a series of client profiles. This used to be the home of the Plata Family! Located in the Old Glendridge
area of St. Catharines, this private wooded ravine lot attracted potential
buyers on the very first day of its listing with Private Real Estate. “This
is the first time we have sold a house, and why wouldn't you try to sell
privately and save yourself the 6% commission of a Real Estate Agent?” Mr.
Plata exclaimed. Provided on each property listed on the
privaterealestate.ca website is a web tracker. “It was great to see exactly
how many people visited our listing on the website” Mr. Plata proclaimed.
They also said that they noticed an abundance of drive by interests the
first day they listed. We were told that the Private Real Estate lawn signs
are by far the best. They are big, bold and with the homeowners phone
number provided on the sign, it made it easy for drive by interests to
contact them.
Mr. And Mrs. Plata have two young daughter’s, and a very busy schedule.
When they were asked about the convenience of scheduling and conducting
their own open houses they replied, “It was great to be able to schedule the
open houses according to our busy lifestyle, apposed to a Real Estate Agent
setting the date.” By setting their own open house schedule, they did not
have relocate during the open houses and felt they should be present
“because we know our home best.”

We asked the Plata’s if it was a concern to any of their potential buyers
that they were selling the home privately. Their response was, “absolutely
not, people seemed happier to deal with us instead of an agent.” “How is it
possible to give honest answers to questions of a potential buyer if you don
’t know the property inside and out?”
Our last question to the Plata’s was if you could sum up Private Real Estate
services in three words what would they be? “Simple, convenient and quick.”
The Plata’s also said that they would definitely sell privately again, and
would recommend Private Real Estate to friends wanting to sell their home.
